Here’s how you generate a multi-level BOM (also known as a nested BOM) in Onshape.  Make sure your Onshape document contains all the necessary assemblies and sub-assemblies required to create the desired multi-level BOM.

(1) Create a BOM by using the OpenBOM integrated app:

(2) Configure the BOM. (1) BOM type = Multi-level BOM; (2) for Assembly = (choose top level assembly). Click “Create BOM” when ready.

Select the desired properties you want to view as a multi-level BOM using the “Select BOM Properties“. Click the “Save” button to save the configuration.

(3) The multi-level BOM will be automatically generated and ready for work and to share with others.
